I have a headcanon that when Feyre is pregnant, Rhys is so happy but also so worried for her that he relentlessly bothers the doctor/midwife/healer (whoever they’d use in the night court) to ask questions about what’s safe e.g He gets a particularly bad case of shutting down when they’re having a celebratory end of the school year/season party with the Vixens.The Foxes figure out different subtle strategies to try to make Neil respond instead of sitting there in an eery silence and trying to blend into the walls when he gets overwhelmed.After all the times Kevin has gotten mad at Neil for picking fights instead of just keeping his mouth shut, even Kevin gets worried when Neil goes into one of his abrupt periods of complete silence.Eventually, the Foxes realize it’s when Neil stops talking altogether instead of arguing that they should really be concerned.When that happens, Neil is an angry mess (usually with poor decision-making skills), but he’s generally still okay at that point.As they get to know Neil better, the Foxes start to realize that Neil going off on someone and spewing profanities and insults isn’t when they really need to be concerned about him.
